Rasa Theory and Indian Music



Shringara" -(Romantic and erotic) Sringara is one of the Nine Rasa and usually translated as erotic love , romance love or as attraction beauty.

"Hasya"-(Humorous) Hasya Rasa is a Joy that comes from within, when we feel that life is good. Humor is its most typical expression and may also cause Joy in others.

"Karuna" -(Pathetic) The Original Sanskrit word and Karuna means SADNESS.The feelings of unspeakable tragedy and despair, hopelessness and heartbreak

"Raudra" -(Anger) Natyashstra that is dominant is an emotion of Anger

"Veera" -(Heroic) Veera is heroism and it represent fearless, selflessness, self assurance and determination.

"Bhayanaka" -(Fearful) Fear, it is Rasa that includes worries as well as severe anxiety

"Vibhatsa"- (Disgust ) It is a feeling that gives disgust or dissatisfaction with self or with others. 

"Adbhuta" - (Amazement ) mystery, astonishment and curiosity cultivating the right attitude towards miracles of Life.

"Shanta" - (Peaceful) The Shanta is the state of peacefulness or tranquility. It is marked by is the feeling of calmness, quietness and peacefulness.
